Electric gates automatic gates that are placed in driveway and entrances of various places like airports, hotels, shopping malls, etc to ease moving and also to implement integrate security systems. Electric gates are generally of two types – swing gates and slide gates. A swing electric gate opens up inwards or outwards from the hinges. But most of the gates are of a slide variety which automatically slides and opens up when an individual crosses the mark.
Electronic gates generally function through the mechanical electrical parts which are attached to the gate. These mechanical parts are controlled by the embedded electronic circuits which are powered by varied ways. Generally, they work through an electric motor either DC or AC, which rotates through a gearbox with oil cooled reduction. The gear box gives power to the drive cog which moves the gates on the steel racks. Some electric gates are also powered through batteries and are also solar powered. Moreover, there are some electric gates also, which are powered by a combination of the both.
Automatic electric gates have a receiver and a transmitter. These are the main gadgets which allow controlling the electric gates even from a distance. The power of the automatic electric gates is determined by the reduction ratio and RPM of the gear box. The swing motors make use of the same gear ratio and RPM to function. But most of the motors function through the ring gear formula opposed to the oil reduction box. The gear moves on to a drive shaft which then pulls the arm which has been attached to the gate through the use of universal joints. Piston systems are also quite popular with the swing gates, but their system is very slow. They work better on worm gear.
