Step 2: Get an idea as to how much of your hair has turned gray. In case your hair is around 20% grey, you need to go for semi-permanent dye. When you use this you need to know that the color will fade in 5 to 10 washes and so you will require frequent dyeing. If it is 50%, you need to use long lasting semi-permanent dye. These are the ones that will last for nearly 25 to 27 washes. In case you find that majority of the hair is gray than you must consider permanent dye.
Step 3: Select the shade of the dye that matches the natural color of your hair. You should always consider one shade darker than that of the natural color of the hair. This is because it is one shade lighter than what is shown and the color also fades in the sun.
Step 4: Spread old towel on the counter of the bathroom and wear an old t-shirt. You also need to wear hand gloves to get started with the procedure. Then you need to follow the procedure as mentioned on the dye packet.
Step 5: Mix the content of the dye as per the instructions given and then touch the roots as required. Then you need to set the timer and then wait for the time mentioned on the packet. Enjoy reading a book or some magazine.
